Cloister: an open square or rectangular space surrounded by covered walkways or 'galleries'.
Finial: decoration used to emphasize the apex of a gable or edge of a building. Smaller finials can be found on furniture and at the ends of curtain rods.
Gable: triangular-shaped area of a wall, created by a sloping roof on either side

Bot: see Ubosot.
Cella: small hall inside the center of a stupa.
Chedi: holy monument. Chedi is the Thai word for stupa or pagoda.
Chedi Rai: small 'votive' Chedis.
Chofah: winglike or hornlike finials on the ends of roof ridges

Kuti: monk quarters
Meru: spire-roofed hall
Mondop: a square structure, generally containing a Buddha image and built over a sacred Buddhist library
Prang: Khmer style (or Khmer-influenced Ayutthaya style) stupa. Traditional Khmer style prangs tend to have a more step-like appearance than the Ayutthaya style prangs, which are more smooth.
Sala: open-sided pavillion
Sima: boundary stone
Ubosot (or Bot): ordination hall. Sometimes closely resembling Viharns (sermon halls), the Ubosot can be identified by the surrounding Simas (boundary stones).
Viharn: sermon or preaching hall
Wat: temple or monastery
